Each year the North High Band hosts Starfest, a marching band festival where many High School bands from Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota compete at Morningside College's Elwood Olsen Stadium! This upcoming 2019-2020 marching season, Starfest will be held on Saturday, September 28th. For the success of the event, it is necessary to have student, parent, and community volunteers. Band Camp Information
Marching Band Camp goes from August 5th-10th. This year, we will be having a Band Camp Kick-off pool party at Leif Erickson Pool on Sunday, August 4th at 5:00pm!
For those of you who are new to marching band, band camp is mandatory for all band students. It is when students learn basics, the drill (field movements), and music for this season's marching band show. Band Camp is a crucial activity for a successful marching season! It is also a wonderful opportunity for new students to get a jump-start on their High School experience by making many new friends. During band camp, all band, guard, and percussion students will be working together; however, please note that there are additional Guard Camp, Percussion Camp, and Winds Sectional dates (check the calendars included). We are looking forward to a great Band Camp!
The Daily Band Camp Schedule:
Morning Rehearsal: 8:00-11:00 am
Lunch: 11:00 am-1:00 pm
Afternoon Rehearsal: 1:00-4:00 pm
